6 Days MARANGU ROUTE

OVERVIEW

The Marangu Route, commonly known as the “Coca-Cola Route”, is the most popular route on Mount Kilimanjaro and the only route offering overnight accommodation in mountain huts. This makes it a practical choice during the rainy season and appealing to climbers who prefer hut lodging over tents.

The route follows a well-established trail through all of Kilimanjaro’s climatic zones from tropical rainforest and heathland to alpine desert and glacial summit while offering beautiful panoramic views.

Although it is the most affordable route, Marangu can be busy during peak seasons (July–September and December–March). This 6-day itinerary is strongly recommended over the 5-day option, as the extra acclimatization day significantly improves summit success rates.
