8 Days Lemosho Route

OVERVIEW

Featuring breathtaking scenery, rich wildlife, excellent acclimatization potential, and fewer climbers, the Lemosho Route is widely regarded as one of the finest ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It is also our personal top choice for reaching the Roof of Africa.

After an approximate 3-hour drive from Moshi to Lemosho Gate, you will arrive on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. From here, the trail leads onto the renowned Shira Plateau, marking the beginning of a journey through diverse ecological zones—from lush alpine meadows to the glaciers near the summit. The ascent is steady and gradual, contributing to Lemosho’s reputation for having the highest summit success rate among all Kilimanjaro routes.

The route is available in six-, seven-, or eight-day itineraries, allowing flexibility based on your schedule. Longer itineraries are strongly recommended, as they provide better acclimatization and increase the chances of a successful summit.
