Upon your arrival in Tanzania, you will be warmly welcomed at the airport by a Mtasha Travel representative. From there, you will be transferred to your accommodation for the night. The trip will start early morning after breakfast. You will be picked up from your accommodation (Arusha, Moshi, or Dar es Salaam) and driven to Tanga. It is a six-hour drive; you will stop for lunch and then continue to Tanga. Arrive in the later afternoon, and you will travel uphill through several villages to the Magamba Rainforest, where you will spend the night in the charming town of Lukozi. Here, you will experience stunning views of untouched forests and enjoy the pure, fresh air. This is also an opportunity to learn about agriculture in the region. Rows of produce grow everywhere, from the valleys to the hilltops. Fruits like apples, plums, peaches, and vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, potatoes, and carrots are abundant.

Time on Foot: 3 hours, 30 minutes
The second day is lighter but no less beautiful. You will hike through small villages like Manolo and Sunga, making your way to the magnificent Range. You will stay at the sisters’ convent in the hills, a location with historical significance. This area was once used by the Germans when they first came to Tanzania. The building, which has a haunted yet fascinating character, was originally constructed in the 1970s.

Time on Foot: 3 hours, 30 minutes
Wake up early, have breakfast, and set out for another day of adventure. The Usambara Mountains look even more enchanting in the morning, with singing birds and lush green forests. The forestry in this area is managed by the government, and every ten years, the forest is cut and re-grown. The type of pine harvested here matures within a decade. This day offers unforgettable sights and experiences. You will spend the night at a lodge with a stunning viewpoint, where you can relax while gazing at the Pare Mountains in the distance, sharing stories, and marveling at the starry night sky.

Time on Foot: 5 hours
On the final day, you will bid farewell to the amazing Usambara Mountains. You will hike for a few hours, backtracking along your route, until you reach a spot where a car will pick you up and take you to Irente. The tour concludes with a visit to the renowned Irente Viewpoint, where you can enjoy one last breathtaking view before heading back to your lodging.

After a memorable adventure, it is time to say goodbye to Tanzania. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute shopping or relaxation. You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, carrying unforgettable memories of your journey with Mtasha Travel.
